What Nobody Tells You About Going Red
Making the decision to color your hair red is just like making the decision to fly to Hawaii for Christmas instead of going home to see family in Iowa. It's a somewhat scary and unfamiliar concept that seems so out of the ordinary and you can't help but wonder what your family and friends will say. But it's also something you've always played with the idea behind you. And let's face it, it looks like it would be an absolute explosion. I have helped a lot of women get started in coloring all their shades of red. And to my knowledge, the only unintended consequence has been an epic amount of ferocity.
From red-browns for women who are nervous about fully engaging, to red-oranges for women who really want to stand out. From Poison Ivy by Batman red for women who know their hair is an accessory to complete their style with purple reds for women who like to add cool tones to the mix. But what I pay attention to every time I help a client make the transition is to make sure they understand everything there is to know about the process.
Red is not a simple color and there is a lot to consider when making decisions about whether it is for you. Before you get started, check out this list of what no one is telling you about turning red. With the exception of your own HelloGiggles virtual stylist, of course!
Note:
- Red doesn’t penetrate the hair strand easily.
- But once it’s colored, it’s there to stay.
- There are so many shades to choose from.
- Choose the shades for you based on your skin tone.
